Have you ever wondered, “What is Gawsworth Parish Council Doing”?
Here’s a brief rundown of our key projects at the moment.
If there is something you think we should be doing then please do tell us by e-mailing email@example.com.
We publish an annual report each April, as a rundown of what the Parish Council has done over the past year.Annual Report 2017/18
Annual Report 2016/17
Annual Report 2015/16
The Parish Council responds to consultations on every planning application for Gawsworth. The response to each application is usually made at the monthly meeting but on occasion will be agreed by e-mail when CEC requires comments outside of our meeting cycle.
If you have comments on an application and you want the Council to know, it is advised you contact the Clerk as soon as possible; he will advise if it will be considered at a meeting or not.
Dark Lane Development
Cheshire East Council is in the process of establishing proposals for a development of 12 homes on Dark Lane. The Parish Council is pressing Cheshire East for information on their proposals and has previously sought for CEC to pause the project to enable the Neighbourhood Plan to investigate things further, this was rejected. The Parish Council has appointed a planning consultant to advise us on the plans as they are released and we will also be commissioning a road safety consultant to advise on matters at the Crossroads.
- Affordable Housing Update (September 2016)
- Our Letter to Cheshire East Council (October 2016)
- Response from Cheshire East Council (November 2016)
We are developing a Neighbourhood Plan for Gawsworth. This will help shape the future development of the parish and give a real say to residents in how their area develops over the next fourteen years. We’ve undertaken a parish-wide survey to gain your views on matters and are now shaping a Vision and Objectives for the plan. Find out more here: www.gawsworthpc.org.uk/neighbourhood-plan
Improving Parish Maintenance
We set out a commitment in our Strategic Plan to improve the standard of maintenance across the parish to create a cleaner and tidier Gawsworth. We’ll be developing a schedule of the routine maintenance tasks which must be undertaken throughout the year and ensure these are undertaken, looking at areas that are not maintained satisfactorily.
Improving the Park and Woodland
Our Strategic Plan set out a commitment t improve Nancy’s Wood and Gawsworth Park. To this end we will be developing a ten-year management strategy which will involve consultation with the community and benchmarking facilities against elsewhere in Cheshire East.
We recognise the concerns of residents in respect of road safety. The Neighbourhood Plan survey helped pinpoint concerns and we are now arranging to meet with Cheshire East Council to discuss these in-depth. We are also engaging a consultant to provide independent advice on matters.
New Noticeboard for Moss
We have commissioned a new, larger noticeboard for Gawsworth Moss, responding to concerns that we do not make best use of the existing noticeboard and that it is in a poor location. We will be installing this new noticeboard closed to the main road where residents will be able to access it easier.
